5 Reasons to make a deal before the SS Dodger cruise Ship turns into the Titanic

Hello fellow readers,

First of all, I am not at all sold on the current state of our team to the South that I proudly call the Dodgers. With the back and forth in the press about the divorce and the media's overall perception that the Dodgers are the sinking ship because of a lack of pitching, I guess things could be worse like another 50 game suspension of an outfielder/slugger. In reality, the Dodgers are a team that have always pride themselves on pitching.

If you don't have money, who do you get? What should you do? Here are my suggestions:

1.) Trade a current starter on the team now: As they say in business, everyone is replaceable. No one is untouchable. I say that anyone can go. This regime (FM) has shown that to be the case with the crazy Marlins trade LoDuca for Penny back in 2004.

2.) Consider your friend to the East the Arizona D-Backs for a trade. Take a chance trying to see what it would cost for Dan Haren.

3.) Look for arms in Japan. If you can't win this year, there are plenty of quality arms in Japan.
Yu Darvish looked fantastic two years ago against our best players in the MLB for Japan. Maybe he's available.

4.) Turn Raffy Furcal into a pitcher. He would be like Pedro, but with a side arm and up and in delivery. Just think, playing the Phillies and he'd accidentally hit Victorino.

Ok, in all seriousness, you can't seriously think that Ned is going stand pat. He's going to bet the ranch on trying to get a quality frontline starter. If it's not Cliff Lee, he's going to see if Oswalt can be the guy. If he runs out of options, I guess there is always sticking with what you have and make sure you have enough life boats.
